R&D Tax Relief Infrastructure

As part of a broader portfolio of R&D projects, a global design firm developed a system-level solution for integrating acoustic ceiling materials with natural daylighting in buildings located in hot climates. The aim was to design a ceiling system that could meet stringent acoustic requirements while allowing for controlled natural light entry, thermal regulation, and visual transparency. The system had to balance performance in acoustics, heat gain mitigation, and daylight distribution — requiring novel materials testing, environmental modelling, and prototyping to optimise performance across multiple parameters.
